Here at Double Down we specialise in creating fun multimedia for enter-tainment or business. We produce a free web cartoon series' viewable on this site and create cartoons, animations, video and web designs for companies and individuals. The Staff at Double Down Media.

Double Down Media is a collaboration of full-time and freelance designers and developers. Our backgrounds range from science and technology to pure art and design which gives us an extensive and varied source with which to create innovative media and web design solutions. Below are profiles of a few of our developers to give you a flavour of who we are.

Colin Gray.

Astrophysicist gone wrong.

Colin Gray graduated from Edinburgh University with a pretty ordinary Ordinary degree in Astrophysics but soon changed tack to Multimedia Design at Napier University where he achieved a Distinction in his MSc. Colin is involved in a lot of the coding for Double Down Media, from simple HTML sites, to PHP powered, dynamic, database driven applications. He also does a fair bit of cartooning and animation, however, and does the majority of Double Down Media's video editing and production work.

Matthew Reid

Lawyer turned artist and web designer.

Matt Reid trained as a lawyer at the University of Edinburgh but changed tack just after his graduation to become a full time artist. He sells his own art on www.reidgallery.co.uk. Matt's technical side also led him into the artistry of Media design and he creates excellent animations and illustrations in Macromedia Flash. His role in Double Down Media is often in providing the design inspiration for web sites and creating animations and illustrations when required. Naturally his law background also letss the rest of us delegate a lot of the admin and client negotiations to him so that we can do something far more interesting!

Dan Peck

Experimental Artist

Dan is another artist turned technical designer. He is talented with a pen and paper and has managed to transfer this skill to designing cutting edge web sites and creating convincing and engaging cartoons. He's one of the experimenters on our staff and has created some great looking animations from more unusual techniques such as rotoscoping. If you're looking for something unusual and unique then Dan's the man.

Marcus Owens

Illustrator and artist with holywood aspirations.

Marcus is our man when it comes to traditional illustration and comic book art. Marcus has drawn and written his own comics and has created illustrations for a number of international companies. Recently he has been testing for animation work with a number of top animation studios, including one that boasts Sean Connery's voice in it's new production. Marcus is, however, always available for comic book art and traditional illustration and will create characters and landscapes that will blow you away.
